THE BRAND

Ekà – Clothes for Poets
Ekà is a handcrafted clothing and lifestyle brand from India, rooted in the poetics of simplicity, nostalgia, and the everyday. Established in 2011, the label reimagines traditional Indian crafts through a contemporary lens offering timeless apparel, accessories, and home goods for modern living.
Distributed globally, Ekà is known for its quiet elegance, versatile silhouettes, and artisanal integrity. Every piece is designed to be worn, reworn, & lived in.

THE PHILOSOPHY

Simplicity is a complex art.
At Ekà, design begins with intention. We craft garments that echo the rhythm of slow living layered, minimal, and mindful. Inspired by poetry’s ability to say more with less, our collections focus on refined handwoven textiles, natural fibres, and time-honoured techniques like block printing, embroidery, and dyeing. Sustainability is embedded in our process, from repurposing archival fabrics to celebrating craft-based production that honours both maker and material.

OUR TEAM

Founded by designer Rina Singh, Ekà is shaped by her love for literature, art, and pastoral memory. A former academic and researcher, Rina’s deep engagement with Indian textiles and global sensibilities defines the brand’s creative spirit. She is joined by Sandeep Dua, Managing Director and textiles expert, who brings two decades of international experience in production and sourcing, leading operations & strategy. Together, they steward a team of over 2000 artisans, and a creative team of 200 in-house designers, & collaborators from across India.

OUR STUDIO

Located in Gurugram, India, the Ekà studio is a vertically integrated space where design, production, and research coexist. Working closely with craft clusters across the country, we source and develop textiles from regions like West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Kashmir, and Rajasthan. Our in-house team of pattern makers, block printers, embroiderers, and quality supervisors ensure every product passes through careful, hands-on development. The studio is a living archive—an ever-evolving dialogue between heritage and innovation.

COLLABORATIONS

Ekà has partnered with iconic institutions and communities to extend its vision. Ekà’s journey is defined by its collaborations—with artisans, global retailers, and communities—each one extending the story of crafts into new geographies and homes.
